TYR Playa del Run Beach Festival Point Series Rules
How Do I Become The TYR Playa del Run Point Series
Champion?
1. Determine your age group – For the 2009 Series, age is based
on how old you are on December 31st, 2009. Your age
on this day is the age you will race all year long.
TYR PdR age groups are: 10-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+. For an example: If you are
29 years old, but turn 30 on December 20th, you will
be racing in the 30-39 age group.
2. Plan your schedule – Enter as many TYR PdR events as you can (Top 3 finishes in
age group count towards your Point Total). This year,
we have 4 races, so it will be important to race in
as many as possible (remember - Top 3 finishes in age
group count towards your Point Total).
3. Accumulate Points –Points are awarded
to the top 15 (15) finishers in each age group at each
race.

2nd - 90
3rd - 82
4th - 75
5th - 69
6th - 63
7th - 58
8th - 53
9th - 49
10th - 45
11th - 41
12th - 37
13th - 34

4. Count ‘em Up! - The athlete with the most points- by gender and age group- after the last race earns the title of KING or QUEEN OF THE BEACH.
6. Tie Breakers – Ties in point standings will be settled by: Head to Head competition (order of finish from the most recent race where both/all competitors participated.) Winner of the most recent race (the highest placing athlete at the most recent race will break the tie).
7. Awards - Awards are given to the TOP 3 OVERALL in each discipline (1-Mile Swim / 5k Run / Aquathlon). There are not age group awards, though we do post those standings.
