The 2010 TYR Playa del Run Beach Festival

5k Run • Aquathlon • 1 Mile Swim • 1 Mile Sand Sprint - all summer long!

The 4 event series has stops at some of the top beach cities along the Southern California Coast. We guarantee some fun at the beach, "friendly" competition and a post event party that'll knock your socks off. Participants can choose between a 5k Run, an aquathlon (swim/run) a 1 mile swim or a 1 mile sand sprint. Points will be awarded for the top finishers for each event. At the end of the season, we'll award the King and Queen of the Beach Awards. Check out the site often as we'll be adding updates weekly.

caf This year our beneficiary is Heal the Bay. whose sole purpose is keeping the water you swim in - CLEAN! We'll be having an awesome raffle again this year. Tickets are only $15 and include a one year membership (valued at $25) to Heal the Bay! All raffle proceeds go directly to HtB. There will be a raffle at every event and you must be present to win. Raffle items include: TYR swim gear, Ed Hardy Sport Merchandise, BlueSeventy wetsuit, Beach Cruisers and more....

07.18.10 - Recap and Results for Playa del Rey
 Awesome job everyone - perfect weather - water temps in the high 60s. Tons of food from Fresh & Easy - and TONS of trash picked up with the Heal the Bay Clean Up! Results are posted in the RESULTS section!

07.12.10 - Get your beach on at the TYR Playa del Run Beach Festival on July 18
 Participate in a 5k run or aquathlon (ocean swim + 5k run) and clean up the surrounding beach. The Heal the Bay Beach cleanup sponsored by Clif Bar will occur directly after the athletic activities (5k fun run/walk or aquathlon). You are welcome to participate in the athletic activities and/or the beach cleanup, just come out and clean up! Heal the Bay’s cleanups are hands-on opportunities for volunteers to directly improve the condition of Santa Monica Bay beaches while enjoying the great outdoors. The cleanup will run from 10:00am - 12:00pm at Dockweiller Beach and all are welcome to participate.

06.30.10 - Heal the Bay Beach Clean Up @ PdR: Playa del Rey on 7/18/10
 We will be joining HtB in a beach clean up following Playa del Run on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at 10:00am. Bring your eagle eyes and love for clean beaches!

06.02.10 - PdR: Huntington Beach this weekend
 The race is this Saturday - it's going to be a fun one - Subaru is going to be BBQing after the race, Clif Bar handing out grub, TYR gear for all participants and Celsius to wash down the burger! Sun is scheduled as well!

04.07.10 - 10k Run added to Huntington Beach
 We've added a 10k Run Option to the HB Event. It's a nice out and back stretch along Bolsa Chica State Beach.
